Specializing in relationship therapy for adults, eileen works with monogamous couples, polyamorous relationships, and the many non-monogamous approaches to partnership. Committed to providing affirming care to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, eileen ensures her clients feel seen and safe while offering validating, non-judgmental, and insightful guidance. Knowing how important the therapeutic relationship is, eileen aims to build connections with clients through mutual respect, curiosity, trust, creativity, and empowerment. She often leans on her humour and authenticity in sessions to encourage an atmosphere of vulnerability and honesty. eileen has her quirks, such as spelling her name with a lower case ‘e’, and she encourages her clients to embrace the quirks that make them feel authentic as well.
Her approach is intersectional, through both identity and lived experiences. We are all shaped by events, relationships, and our sociocultural environment. This foundational approach is supported by integrating anti-racist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, person-centered, and systems-centered approaches.
In relationship therapy, eileen uses an integrative process that draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. eileen responds to each relationship’s unique needs with a focus on improving communication, deepening understanding of self and others, and by supporting new ways of being in relationship that align with your values. eileen’s approach is informed by her Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education, Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, as well as completing the Emotionally Focused Therapy Externship and other professional trainings such as Decolonizing Trauma Work, Narrative Therapy Practices, 2SLGBTQIA+ Foundations, Treating Complex Trauma with IFS, and various others.
