Karsyn sees adults aged 18+ from within and outside of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
She provides support to folks who wish to process and understand their emotions; who want to improve their self-awareness and self-esteem; and who want to develop more coping skills, including creating healthy boundaries. She also provides support to those wishing to explore their identity, including their sexuality and gender. Her counselling style is eclectic. She draws from multiple theories such as CBT, ACT, Attachment Theory and more. She also stays up to date on cultural competency, and trauma informed care.
Karsyn was raised by parents in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and she has a passion for working toward positive change, social justice and equity. She has worked in primary care, hospitals and long-term care. She has always taken a special interest in work with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and recently worked with a team to create and open a trans clinic in a rural community.
