Registered Social Work Services and Registered Psychotherapy Services (including qualifying therapists) are covered by many extended health care plans. Your insurance provider can tell you whether our services are covered under your plan. Registered social work and psychotherapy services are considered health expenses and can be claimed on your income tax return.

Fees for services by Masters Level University Students/Interns
Our interns are from Master’s level Social Work and Psychotherapy Programs. They are available September to April each year.

Our students provide counselling as part of their practicum experience at Centrepeace Counselling & Therapy Services. They are not paid for their services. Fees to see our interns cover administrative and office expenses and the interns’ supervision by a Registered Social Worker (MSW). Most insurance companies will cover the cost of counselling by a social work intern, as they are supervised by a MSW, RSW. Please check with your benefit provider to ensure these services are covered prior to your initial appointment.

Reduced Rates: Fees to see a Student/Intern are based on a sliding scale. Contact our director at pamela@centrepeacelondon.ca to discuss fees in more detail.

Direct Billing to:

Canada Life Insurance, Green Sheild, SSQ, Blue Cross/Medavie, and CINUP Insurance — social work and psychotherapy services by all at Centrepeace can be direct-billed to these insurers in most cases. The client must pay their portion of the fee at the time of the appointment if the insurer does not cover 100%.

NIHB (Non-Insured Health Benefits) — for Indigenous/First Nation and Inuit clients. Social work services by Pamela Bailey (and counselling students under her supervision) can be direct-billed by Centrepeace, after the approval process. Centrepeace will submit NIHB applications on behalf of interested clients.

**We are working on adding insurers to our direct billing list.**

Our payment policies are reviewed with clients before services begin. A receipt will be emailed to the client/parent after each session, when payment is processed. 48 hours notice is required for cancellations to avoid cancellation fees.
